On Suffrage Day, join us for a drop-in activity workshop where you can help us collectively continue our understanding of our Palmerston North suffrage petition signatories. On the day - select one of nearly 500 names from the petition records. The Second Floor will hold a series of "resource tables". Each table will hold one resource and be hosted by a guide who will help you find your chosen “Palmerston North suffrage petition signatory”. Using an activity sheet, use maps, Manawatū Heritage, online genealogy resources, petition sheets of our rohe, Papers Past, BDM historical, and more. Depending on how much info you can uncover, you can choose to use the “Women's Suffrage Petition biography guide” from National Library to write a short bio. Or deposit your discoveries for writers to create bios based on your research.
Suitable for intergenerational pairs or small groups working together, as well as anyone at the City Library enjoying Local History Month.
