How do I join the Library?

You can become a Library member by visiting our Library or join online now.

Please select Digital Only Membership for immediate access to our digital resources. Give us a moment to process your membership, and then you can access our online services, from databases to ebooks to online movies and the rest.

To complete the process for full membership, you’ll need visit our Library to provide some form of photo ID. We’ll also ask for proof of your address (a utility bill or bank statement with your name and address is fine, and this can be a PDF document on your phone). We will set you up with a library card.

Just moved, and no bills at the new address yet? No problem, we will give you temporary limited membership, then send a letter out to your new street address. Bring this in as proof of your address.

Everyone who lives within the boundaries of Palmerston North City can join and borrow for free. If you live outside the Palmerston North City boundary or are visiting Palmerston North for an extended period, there are other options -please contact us.

Note: tertiary students enrolled with a P.N. education provider and living here during term time qualify for free membership, even if their permanent address is elsewhere.
