This exhibition looks at the voyage through the eyes of a passenger Lucija Ozolins. 2025 is the 75th anniversary of the arrival in NZ of the second ship with Displaced Persons, the IRO ship TSS Hellenic Prince. It left Bremmer Haven on Sept 5th and arrived in Wellington on Oct 18th, 1950 with 980 Displaced Persons from Europe. Amongst them was Lucija Ozolins from Latvia, who settled in Palmerston North. She had a life-long interest in sewing and craft - activities which were her lifeline. See also the talk on other Hellenic Prince passenger stories.
