The idea behind 'Quiet Hour' is to set aside a time each week for a library experience that minimises noise and other sources of sensory overload.
What does quiet hour involve at Te Pātikitiki ?
Quiet hour is intended to make the Te Pātikitiki space more inclusive or sensory-friendly.
In doing so, we agree to:
- pause collection and distribution of library materials via library carts.
- turn off our music.
- turn off as much lighting as practicable.
- turn down the volume on checkout scanners.
