Launch: E tū te mana o te ao: Building a Climate of Hope: Faith and Action Guide

Join us for the regional launch of E tū te mana o te ao: Building a Climate of Hope: Faith and Action Guide

This is the first interfaith Climate Action Guide of this nature in Aotearoa NZ.  It has been written by the Religious Diversity Centre Climate Action Group.  It is the follow up to the successful 2023 webinar series, E tū te mana o te ao: Building a Climate of Hope.

The Faith and Climate Action Guide is a celebration of the achievements of the Palmerston North Interfaith Group which has made a stellar contribution to faith-based climate action since 2015.

The cover situates Aotearoa New Zealand as part of the “sea of islands”, to borrow the powerful metaphor of Pacific scholar Epeli Hau’ofa. The “sea of islands” conveys a pan-Pacific vision of Oceania over a vast territory, and thus a potent image of strength through connection. Strength through connection. And this is precisely how humanity must see itself at this eleventh hour of climate emergency.
