Michelle Duff is an award-winning journalist and writer from Feilding who lives in Te Whanganui-a-Tara, Wellington. She was the winner of the 2023 Fiction Prize from the International Institute of Modern Letters. She is recognised in Aotearoa for her in-depth reporting and feature writing in outlets such as Stuff, New Zealand Geographic and 1News, and globally in The Guardian and The Times (UK). Her short story collection Surplus Women was published by Te Herenga Waka University Press in April 2025 and is a Unity Books bestseller.
