Dying Matters Week 2026

Do you have all your ducks in a row?

Join us for open, honest conversations with local experts during Dying Matters Week 2026, September 7th-13th.

Discover your options and connect with others in supportive spaces about end-of-life decisions, grief, mental health, aging and caring for loved ones.

Some of the things you can attend include:

  • a talk by Apryl Cadman (Manawatū Community Law) about the importance of Enduring Power of Attorneys and Wills.
  • Arohanui Hospice Open Night/Kōrero and Death Without Debt workshops (new additions for this year)
  • a special Jumping Jellybeans 'Brave Love'  session with guests from the Think Hauora Access and Choice service.
  • the talk by Dr Temple-Camp at the Lychway should be fascinating as well. This is not a ticketed event - people can just show up. There's seating capacity for 250.

If people have questions related to end-of-life planning, they can bring them along to the Panel Discussions with Local Experts on Sunday 13th - all the answers in one place.
