Scholars & Soup: ‘Public Perception in the Development of Minor Sports in New Zealand’

Join us every Wednesday in July at 6pm to hear from staff and graduates of Massey University’s History Programme. Hot soup available from 5.45pm

A presentation by Amos Ngo MA

For a sports-mad society like New Zealand, sport has long been an integral part of life. However, have you ever wondered why some sports have become more popular than others? Is it merely a matter of chance, or is there a more nuanced answer to the question? In this session of Scholar and Soup, we will explore the history of minor sports in New Zealand and examine the public perceptions that have shaped the way we view and participate in sport today.

Scholars & Soup is a partnership of Palmerston North City Library and Massey University School of Humanities, Media and Creative Communication.
