The presentation will revisit the thesis of New Zealand’s response to the Vietnam War using Palmerston North as a case study. The presentation will look at the collective memory of not only soldiers and protestors perspectives but also civilians. It will look at how the power of memory has shifted the narrative of the Vietnam War’s impact in people’s minds and the lasting legacy of the Vietnam War.
