Lael Chisholm will present prizes to award winning participants in the Granny McFlitter Colouring Competition, read the story Granny McFlitter Stitches Up a Storm and also share some of her illustrative work with the audience.
Lael Chisholm is an illustrator based in Palmerston North, and she has loved drawing ever since she was old enough to hold a pencil.
After winning the Storylines Gavin Bishop Award for illustration in 2017 at the age of 19, Lael began illustrating picture books and has since worked on several award-winning titles, most notably the Granny McFlitter series with author Heather Haylock.
Lael’s favourite medium for her illustrations is watercolour paint. Many hours of painting by hand go into the creation of her books!
