This year we celebrate the 50th year of Te Wiki o te Reo. Te Wiki o te Reo runs from 14th to 20th September.

Come in to the library over the week to watch a webinar:

  • 15 September, 12pm: 50 years together: The Waitangi Tribunal and Te Wiki
  • 16 September, 12pm: From a day to a week - Where Te Wiki began 
  • 17 September, 12pm: Te Reo Māori and AI 
  • 18 September, 12pm: Learning your language as Māori
  • 19 September, 12pm: Tiki, trademarks, tiakarete and Te Wiki

Or complete the Scavenger Hunt to win a prize:

From the 15 – 19th September, grab a mahere (map) from the First Floor display. Follow the map to find the Kia Kaha te Reo tohu that are spread throughout the library. Record the letters to spell out a kīwaha.

Once you think you’ve solved the kīwaha. Take it up to the First Floor Main Desk to collect a prize.

N.B: We will have a different Kīwaha every day from the 15 – 19th September.
