Tonga Language Week

Mālō e lelei! This week is Uike Kātoanga’i ‘o e lea faka-Tonga – Tonga Language Week. The 2026 theme is Ko 'etau hiva, ko e fe'unu mahu'inga ia ki he mo'ui 'a e Tonga - Our music is a vital strand of our Tongan culture.

There are some great resources to celebrate the week at the City Library including this book which explores Tongan artforms through a traditional lens. You can find more books through this link for both adults and children.
