The Lame Seagull, the Kerry Bull and the 3rd Taranaki War, 1865-66

The Third Taranaki War was the final campaign conducted by Imperial forces during the New Zealand Wars. The war was dominated by the personalities of its two British commanders: LTGEN Sir Duncan Cameron, who was to resign in August; and his replacement, MAJGEN Trevor Chute, who brought the war to a conclusion with one of the most brutal campaigns of the New Zealand Wars.
