We are delighted to be once again hosting the Latin America & Spain Film Festival (LASFF) in collaboration with the participating embassies and Massey University, from 3 – 19 October.
The festival is a vibrant cultural event dedicated to displaying contemporary cinema from Latin America and Spain. Celebrating its 23rd edition, LASFF continues its mission to embrace the richness and diversity of Spanish and Portuguese-speaking cultures through the magic of cinema. The festival aims to connect communities by offering a shared space for cultural exchange and storytelling.
The festival showcases a hand-picked selection of contemporary films from eight participating countries: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Mexico, Peru, and Spain. From compelling stories to vibrant cultural insights, LASFF offers audiences a unique opportunity to experience the richness of Spanish and Portuguese-speaking cultures. It provides audiences with an immersive experience of the language, culture, and social issues shaping these extraordinary countries.
The opening night with screening of The World of Nelsito | LASFF will be held at Event Cinemas Friday 3 October from 6pm. All other screenings will be held at the Palmerston North Central Library Palmerston North City Library | Latin America & Spain Film Festival
All the movies are free entry with English subtitles.
