Where can I find newspapers?

Today's newspapers are on the Mezzanine Floor in Central Library. Older newspapers are held on the second floor of the Central Library (Heritage floor).

We offer multiple website and app options for you to read magazines online.

Editions for the last three months for many newspapers can be read on PressReader.com website or app. Press Reader includes 2000 newspapers from 100 countries, in 60 languages. Just log in to PressReader with your library card and PIN number.

Local newspapers dating back to 1877 are held on microfilm and microfiche. You can use the index to the Manawatū Standard to search for births, deaths, marriages and articles of local historical interest. You’ll find old Manawatū newspapers on Papers Past.
