What does Te Pātikitiki mean?
The name Te Pātikitiki came from a Tukutuku panel gifted to the library by the Highbury Raranga Roopu in April 2008 and was created by Whaea Yvonne Marshall.
Te Pātikitiki, the flounder, is a significant symbol featured in many local marae; the flounder represents abundance and is seen as fuel for the brain, mind, imagination and dreams.
