Yvonne Marshall: A Life Dedicated to the Progression of People

Yvonne Marshall (Rangitāne, Ngāti Apa, Ngāti Kuia) dedicated her life to the progression of rangatahi, her iwi and the wider Māori communities of Palmerston North. She was a founding kuia of Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Manawatū and the Highbury Weavers. Service to her iwi and the community was life-long and she was an active member of many societies, the Rangitāne Māori Women’s League, was Massey University’s first Māori Liaison Officer, a Justice of the Peace and a city councillor. Join Debi Marshall-Lobb (Rangitāne, Ngāti Rangi, Ngāti Tūwharetoa) and others as they share stories about a woman dedicated to her community.
