Open Day: Tokomaru Steam Engine Museum

Photograph of a steam-powered ice machine with large wheel in the foreground.

Hosted by owner/operators Roxanne and Damian Groves, this is a great opportunity to view a private collection of historic machinery, featuring a comprehensive collection of stationery steam engines, small locomotives and steam rollers. Highlights include the 1869 Appleby engine (NZ's oldest steam engine) and the mammoth Filer and Stowell engine, one of the country's largest.

Entry by donation.
