The Manawatū Guardian Collection: A Taonga for the City

Bound book of newspapers. Book is open to a page with a red advert and the front page of the Guardian.

Gifted to the City Library in late 2024, the Manawatū Guardian collection consists of every edition of the printed newspaper since the first edition in July 21, 1972. Containing a huge wealth of knowledge for locals, it is an incredibly valuable resource for the wider community as there are stories in its pages that cannot be found elsewhere. Join the City Library Heritage team in reading selected editions and revisiting some of those unique stories.
