Robert Matthews was one of Palmerston North’s most significant musicians, well known for his contribution to music education at Palmerston North Teachers’ College and nationally. Join Roy Tankersley to learn more about Robert, long serving organist and choir master at St Andrew Presbyterian Church, a man who inspired a life-long love of music in people of all ages. In honour of Robert, Pathways Presbyterian Church (formerly St Andrews) formed the Robert Matthews Memorial Scholarship, supporting young local musicians. Past scholars will perform after the presentation.
