The Grasslands Revolution at Massey and in Manawatū

During the 1920s, L.J. Wild and Geoffrey Peren played a leading role in placing New Zealand agriculture on a more scientific footing. In so doing they helped facilitate a 'grasslands revolution' which saw an intensification of farming in New Zealand, with profound long-term consequences for the environment. Associate Professor Geoff Watson will share how these two thought leaders democratised knowledge making it relevant and comprehensible to farmers and pupils alike.
