Researching, writing and telling family stories can pose tricky questions of those doing the narrating. Whose tales are ours to tell? What are our obligations to our dead? Can we reasonably, much less accurately, attribute motive or intent to those who came before us? This workshop will explore these and other ethical, historical and political issues associated with crafting family histories.
