Join us on an adventure to Ashhurst School and discover the recently installed He Pou Kōrero. These four two metre tall pou (pillars) bring insight to the significance of the surrounding environment: its unique geography, flora and fauna, history, and cultural heritage. Learn about the history of Ashhurst School and the diverse stories that have emerged over the past 147 years. Then head to the classroom and participate in a school exercise the way it was done in times past – pencils, paper, chalk, blackboard, mean teachers and the threat of the cane for anyone who misbehaves!
