Join John Girling for ‘Foxton and Flax’, an experience which includes seeing the flax stripping machinery in operation, and an overview of the flax industry. The museum’s photographic display shows the production of carpets and woolpacks from flax. Pair your museum visit with a walk along the Piriharakeke Walkway. Enjoy views of the Manawatū River loop and farmland while learning about the history of the area from historic signs and photographs along the walk. See the programme for open days at Foxton on the same day – make a day of it!
