Book launch: Against the Grain

Join author Bing Turkby in discussion with local cosy mystery luminary G B Ralph, as they launch 'Against the Grain', the third installment of Bing's Guitar Store Mysteries series.

Bing's stories have a 95% chance of guitars and a 45% chance of cats, and he is “probably the preeminent cosy crime guitar mystery writer in Palmerston North” according to Gareth Ward, bestselling co-author of The Bookshop Detectives.

Compere GB Ralph is the writer of the popular Milverton Mysteries series.

Guitar Store Mysteries - a rock'n'roll cosy mystery series set in small-town Aotearoa New Zealand, where Brokenwood meets Black Sabbath.

'Against the Grain' sees guitar store owner Dana trying to solve the murder of her old school friend while being threatened by two crooks. With the clock ticking, and her friend Detective Wade McNeish being as much use as a custard guitar pick, will Dana, Brody, and Paws McCartney (the guitar store cat) crack the case in time?

The launch is being supported by legendary local institution Bruce McKenzie Booksellers.

Includes a musical performance from the band Marzipan Campervan, in their debut appearance!
