Animals in Winter @ Roslyn Library

Erin is a local Manawatū author, business owner, scientist, and now a part-time ESOL teacher—and this winter, she is bringing an exciting new session to NZ libraries!

Animals in Winter activity session, inspired by a much-loved family book  Animals in Winter. This fun, hands-on experience gets kids thinking about how animals survive the cold—both here in Aotearoa and overseas!

🌿 Hibernation vs. Active – Do animals in NZ hibernate like bears in the USA? Kids will discover the surprising differences through games and role-play!
🐿️ Squirrel vs. Kea Challenge – Can they gather enough “food” to survive the winter like a squirrel, or will they be crafty foragers like a kea?
