In 2000 the NZDF rescinded the ‘combat exclusion’ policy. This meant that from 2000 onwards, women were able to enlist into those trades deemed to be ‘combat’, which had previously excluded women. Combat trades included trades such as infantry, armoured and artillery. This presentation will discuss progress made with regard to women’s participation in the NZDF, 25 years on from this historic decision.
