110th Anniversary of the Defeat of the Allied Fleet in the Dardanelles

After the Ottoman Empire entered the Great War, Russia sought assistance from Britain and France. The decision was made to force the Dardanelles, to open the sea route to Russia. Thus March 18th 1915 saw a unique and costly naval battle, that led directly to the Gallipoli campaign.
