With the motto of "thoughtful entertainment," Kanopy provides Palmerston North City Library patrons with access to films of unique social and cultural value; films that are often difficult or impossible to access elsewhere, and programming that features diversity, with a wide array of foreign language films and films on race, and current affairs.

You have 3 days (72 hours) to watch each film as many times as you like.

Kanopy Kids

Kanopy Kids is a complimentary site to Kanopy, full of quality Children's entertainment.

Palmerston North City Library members can use their library cards to access films, animation and stories for free through Kanopy Kids. Kanopy Kids has a wide selection of educational and entertaining movies and TV series, and animated storybooks for children of all ages. Appropriate for preschool and up.

You need a Kanopy account to access Kanopy Kids.

Kids cannot create their own accounts. A parent or guardian must create the Kanopy account.

Once you've gone into Kanopy Kids, you'll have unlimited access to Kanopy Kids for 30 days.

Story Box Library is an educational website created for Australian children to view stories by Australian authors and illustrators, being read aloud by fantastic storytellers. Ever expanding content, with New Zealand material coming, short films about the creative process behind books, and at home activities for each story.

Go to Log In, select Public Library & Tertiary. Make sure Palmerston North City Library is selected and enter your library card number.

Animated talking picture books for children. Fiction, Non-fiction and foreign language titles, plus maths and read-alongs.

TumbleBooks are animated, talking picture books which teach kids the joy of reading in a format they'll love. TumbleBooks are created by taking existing picture books, adding animation, sound, music and narration to produce an electronic picture book which you can read, or have read to you. TBL also includes National Geographic videos and games.
