Awapuni Library FAQ


Awapuni Library is closed due to a leak.

Kia ora koutou. Hi everyone,
We're missing you Awapuni! We are working hard to open again as soon as we can. In the meantime, we are doing things a little differently. We will update this regularly as more info comes out.

24 May 2023 Update:

At this stage, Awapuni Library will be closed through June as we continue work to remedy the leak. We’ll continue working with our awesome community partners to offer our popular programmes in the area.

How long will Awapuni be closed?

At this point, we do not have a reopening date, but Awapuni Library will be closed at least through June 2023.

How do I get my holds?

Holds will be available at Central Library. Contact us for other pickup options.

Where can I drop my books?

A temporary returns slot is available outside Awapuni Library on weekdays between 9am - 5pm. This will be emptied daily. You can still return items to our other locations at any time.

How can I contact Awapuni team?

You can leave a message with the Contact Centre for the Awapuni team by phoning 06 351 4100, email us at Awapuni@pncc.govt.nz or send us a message on Facebook.

How can I get something off the shelf?

Library materials are being shared to other library locations, principally the Central Library. In the meantime, you can place a hold through the library website or talk to a staff member who can do this for you.

Can I still use the WiFi?

The Wi-Fi is still available most of the time, but it will be switched off for periods to protect our network while building work is occurring in the space. It will be switched on again as soon as possible.

Can I still get a copy of The Manawatū Guardian?

Our awesome neighbours at His and Hers Barbershop are kindly minding the newspaper stand. It can be found outside the library during the week. New issues arrive each Thursday.
