Why do I have to do Contact Tracing?
Contact tracing is in place at all our locations as a Health & Safety requirement under Level 2 to help keep our community safe from COVID-19. We have three ways you can contact trace before entering the City Library spaces:
- You can complete contact tracing yourself on your smart phone by using the NZ COVID Tracer app. After registering, scan the QR code at our locations and show a member of staff your green circle.
- You can complete contact tracing yourself on your smart phone by using Webfox's www.covidregister.nz. After registering, scan the QR code at our locations and show a member of staff your green screen.
- A member of staff can check you in using Webfox's www.covidregister.nz.
Here's our Contact Tracing privacy statement:
Your privacy is important to us. This information is being collected to assist in the management of the Covid-19 pandemic. It will be given to the Ministry of Health and/or the District Health Board on request in the event that it is required for contact tracing purposes. We will only use this information for Contact Tracing and keeping track of the number of people at our Library locations. We will not use it for any other purpose. The data is stored for a maximum of 12 weeks and is then destroyed.
We are using Webfox’s www.covidregister.nz to collect this information. Personal information will be kept on Webfox secure servers as well as Council secure servers.
You have a right to access and correct any information we hold about you.
What information are we collecting?
Any contact tracing register or record keeping system must collect this information:
- Full name
- Phone number, email, or address
- Time in
