As part of its commitment to developing digital literacy in the community the Linrary offers ‘Stepping Up’ computer classes.
Stepping UP is provided through the 2020 Communications Trust, and is a free, community-based training programme which aims to build people’s confidence with computers and the internet.
The programme involves a series of learning modules called ‘digital steps’ – each designed to take up to 2 hours to complete with the support of a tutor.
The Library is limited to offering only 8 places per session (sessions are repeated if you miss out on a place) so it will pay to book in early.
Classes run throughout the year, but you only need to sign up for the ‘steps’ that best suit your needs and interests, rather than commit to attending a whole course.
If you’re interested in learning more about this new service, visit:
where you can also book a place on any of the 16 courses. You can also phone us or ask a librarian to help you next time you visit.
