The Beatbooth
The first recording studio in a public library anywhere in the universe! (as far as we know...) - beatbooth - is now open.
Come along and check it out!
For only $5 an hour. You will be able to book the recording room and use the iMac
- which is loaded with ProTools and Garageband
- has a 4-way headphone amplifier
- and a very cool MIDI controller keyboard. This means you can mix tracks you've recorded elsewhere, or record your own tracks in The Library.
Obviously we won't be having drumkits and Marshall stacks in the room, but you can bring your guitar and use the Amplitube guitar amp modeller, close your eyes and pretend you're onstage at Ozzfest. The MIDI controller has drumpads so you can input drum patterns in realtime without having to use a mouse too.
To make a booking simply pop in to the Sound and Vision zone, ground floor central library, and ask at the desk.
Thanks to the Rockshop and the Stomach for being involved with this.
