Renewals

If you can’t get your books back on time

  • Avoid fines by extending the loan period before the items are due.

  • Items can be renewed a maximum of two times.

  • Some types of items, such as DVDs or bestsellers, can’t be renewed using the library catalogue.

To renew your books

  • Phone (06) 351 4101 during opening hours

  • Ask at any desk in the Library.

  • Access your record on our library catalogue either in the library or at home. You need your library card number and PIN.

Things to know about renewals

  • If an item is on reserve for someone else then it cannot be renewed.

  • Items can be renewed a maximum of two times only so that others have a chance to get the item out.

  • If you owe more than $10 on your card then you won’t be able to renew your items yourself – ring us on (06) 351 4101 and we can do it for you.

  • If you paid to get the item out then you'll need to talk to us so we can renew it manually for you. A charge will be added to your card depending on the type of item (e.g. a $2 DVD will cost an extra $2 for another week). Click here for a list of item types and their charges.
