Courtesy Reminders
Receive an email when items are due within 2 days.
The library is now able to offer you a courtesy reminder notice by email, letting you know that your books and other items are approaching their due date. These notices are sent out 2 days before the due date, allowing you plenty of time to gather up those items for renewing or returning to the library.
If you would like to receive these reminder notices:
To prevent your library notices being treated as spam please add notices@pncc.govt.nz to your safe senders list.
Avoid library fines
- Keep due date slips handy (pop it on your fridge)
- Renew items if you can't get them returned on time
- Return your items at a number of convenient locations.
- Sign up for a courtesy reminder notice - we'll send you an email 2 days before your items are due back.
If items are returned late
- An overdue notice will be posted or emailed seven days after the item was due back.
- Fines are charged every day an item is overdue. The amount varies depending on the type of item.
- Fines stop accumulating as soon as the item has been returned or renewed.
- Once fines reach $10 you will be blocked from borrowing until you have paid them.
Lost items and damaged items
- The replacement cost is charged for items that are overdue for more than four weeks.
- Parents/guardians are responsible for items out on their children’s cards.
- If you notice an item is damaged, please return it to a desk so we can take it out of circulation.
- If you caused the damage then we will put a charge on your card to reflect the extent of the damage.
- Please don’t try to repair books yourself. Just keep pieces together and return them to a desk.
- Please do not purchase a replacement copy for items you may have lost or damaged - items are often not the same as the original library items
