Festival of Cultures - World Food, Craft and Music Fair
Feel the buzz and energy of our community celebrating its cultural diversity. Saturday is the busiest day of the festival with family entertainment, amazing food and constant festivity.
The day kicks off with the opening ceremony at 10am. The remainder of the day is full of local and international entertainment and over 80 cultural food and craft stalls situated around the Events Quadrant.
There will also be activities for families to experience and learn something new about different cultures.
Local cultural groups have been rehearsing for weeks to prepare for their performances throughout the day, and we are fortunate to have professional performers Matiu Te Huki, Clube de Coro- Bryn van Vliet and Romulo Castro. They are not to be missed. (See our website for further information about these performers)
The Festival opens on Friday 3 March with the traditional Lantern Parade around The Square from. 7 - 9pm.
Sunday is the completion of the Festival with Te Manawa and the Globe Theatre hosting a wide variety of events, activities and entertainment. See separate listing.
Mark this weekend in your diary - you don't want to miss this one!
