News and newspaper guide

The Library offers newspaper information in several formats. A collection of the most recent New Zealand dailies, overseas and community newspapers can be found in the Welcome Lounge, while older editions can be found in the New Zealand and Pacific Islands Zone.

There are a number of similar directory sites. They allow you to specify which country you wish to search. They may only provide a snippet of information from the cover page rather than the entire content of the newspaper.
 

Papers Past showcases selected 19th-century New Zealand newspapers and periodicals. Currently it contains digital images of more than one million pages from 41 publications.
