Moa on the Manawatu

A Local History Week talk by Fiona McKergow

On Thursday 15th August, 1912, headlines in the Manawatu Evening Standard ran hot. "Interesting Discovery at Hokowhitu. What the Floods Revealed. Prehistoric River Bank Deposit. Impressions 18 Inches Across." This talk links the prehistory of moa trackways with the story of Manawatu's first museum.

All talks are held on the 2nd Floor of the Central Library 12 noon – 1pm. Bring your lunch - tea and coffee served.

Date: Sep 18, 2009
Hours: 12:10 - 12:50pm
Location: New Zealand & Pacific Islands, 2nd Floor, Central Library
