How much electricity are you using?

Take control of your power bill. $2 for 2 weeks.

The power meter plugs into a standard electrical socket and measures how much electricity an applicance is using at any given moment. If left there it can also track your usage - so you can see how much it costs to run your TV or your computer for a week or how much power it uses when turned on (or off).
This information can help you manage your power use and save money on your electricity bills. Any appliance that plugs into the wall can be measured this way - however this will not measure hot water and fixed lighting electricity use.

The Library now has power meters available to hire.  They are available from:

  • Central Library issues desk
  • Ashhurst Library
  • Awapuni Library
  • Mobile Library
  • Roslyn Library and
  • Te Pâtikitiki

If you need more time with a meter it can be renewed for an extra 2 weeks as long as there isn't a waiting list for them.

Each pack contains comes with instructions.
