Rebirth of Friends of the City Library
As a response to public demand, Friends of the City Library will be restarted. Everyone is welcome to join.

In answer to a number of queries from regular users of the City Library – how can I help? – the City Library welcomes the wish to revive the local Friends of the Library.
Friends’ groups, very active throughout the public library world, provide support in many and varied forms – providing storytellers; running book sales; organising events; and offering constructive comment on resources and services when appropriate.
A group of Friends can:

Maintain an association of people interested in public libraries

Promote public use of the local public library and appreciate its value as an asset to the community

Encourage the extension and improvement of library services

Assist with library activities and events
