The Aura - Latin American Film Festival

A captivating script from start to end, superb cinematography and great acting are some of the qualities of this extraordinary film. It narrates the hallucinating voyage of Espinoza, a quiet, cynical taxidermist, who is obsessed with committing the perfect crime while struggling with his greatest weakness: epilepsy. Before each seizure he is visited by the "aura": a paradoxical moment of confusion and enlightenment where the past and future seem to blend.

The Palmerston North City Library & Massey University School of Language Studies, presents this years Latin American Film Festival showcasing award winning films from Chile, Mexico, Uruguay and Argentina.

6 award-winning films. In Spanish with English subtitles.

'Paintings from the human archive' - new paintings by Kirsty Porter.

Painted from photographs from her past, Kirsty examines the nature of memory - does she remember the event or does she remember the photograph? A crystalline ooze appears in throughout the paintings, drawing our attention to the potent life force of each scenario.
