Michelle Kelly - Te Pātikitiki

As part of the finalist author tours Michelle Kelly will be in our region on Tuesday 12th May and visiting the following schools: Feilding Intermediate, Monrad Intermediate and Whakarongo School.

About Michelle Kelly

Michelle has always loved writing stories and has been known to make up a few, however it was only eight years ago that Michelle started writing seriously.

She enjoys the pleasure of creating a world of characters and situations where she gets to determine the outcome – well, usually, unless the characters or the editor decides differently. Her sons have always been Michelle’s inspiration. It is the funny things the boys do that she needs to share in her writing.

Payback by Michelle Kelly

Payback by Michelle Kelly

Riley’s biggest problem is that he’s short. (What if he stayed pygmy-sized forever?) His other problem is Kelly – she’s not talking to him and he doesn’t know why. Then, to top it all off, in a moment of pure insanity he thumps the biggest bully in school. Vince McGerk vows to get even, but Riley doesn’t know when or how. The only thing he knows for sure is that payback is certain.

Visit the NZ Post Book Awards website for more information and the 2009 finalists.

'Paintings from the human archive' - new paintings by Kirsty Porter.

Painted from photographs from her past, Kirsty examines the nature of memory - does she remember the event or does she remember the photograph? A crystalline ooze appears in throughout the paintings, drawing our attention to the potent life force of each scenario.

April 24 - May 11,
Events Central, Ground Floor.
