Greg Bloomfield

Greg is a world-renowned furniture designer based in Masterton. His work is held in public collections in Chicago, London and New Zealand. He has also exhibited his work in New York, Chicago, London and Paris.

Greg designed and constructed the storyteller's chair and play area in the Children's Zone. He also designed and built a number of clocks for the library.

His aim as a furniture maker is to create functional items within a context that either belies their original intention or tells a story about something that holds his interest. He works with no plans, only an idea that he sees very clearly. Greg then collects the materials he needs and 'does it'. Decisions are made on the way, allowing him to feel free of any constraints.
