Membership

• Membership of Palmerston North City Library is free to all adults living within the city boundaries, to city ratepayers, and to all children and young adults of high school age.  

How to join the Library

• Go to the Central Library, any branch library or to the Mobile Library bus.

• At the Central Library ask at the Membership Desk on the Mezzanine Floor.

What to bring

Young Adults need

• ID with your name and signature (e.g. student ID or driver’s licence).
• If you are under 17 then your parent or guardian will need to sign the Conditions of Membership form on your behalf.
• No parent handy when you join?
  We can sign you up as a New Member and post the forms to your parent/guardian.
  This means you are limited to three items on your card at any time until you bring in the completed forms.
• Alternatively, print out the Conditions of Membership form, get a parent/guardian to complete it and bring it with you to become a full member straight away.
