Digital Audio Book

What is a Digital Audio Book?

A digital audio book  is the newest format of audio, combining a wide variety of content with an easy-to-use player all in one small unit.

All you have to do is press play to start listening immediately – there is no need for a separate player.

All you need to make it play is a pair of earphones and a AAA battery.  Batteries are available for purchase from the Issues Desk for $1.00 each and earphones for $5.00 - or use your own.

Digital Audio Books at the library

The library has purchased a small collection of digital audio books for your enjoyment which are  located with the other audio books in the Fiction Zone. These are ready-to-go MP3 audiobooks.

  • No cassettes
  • No CDs
  • No downloading
  • No computers

Just switch it on, plug in your earphones and get listening.

What titles do we have?

To find a list of Playaway digital audio books titles simply do a quick search on the catalogue by entering DAB in the keywords from title or subject search box. The titles are identified by a headphone graphic. You can also place a reserve to go on the waiting list for a digital audio book.
