Borrowing

Borrow at any branch

  • Use your library card to borrow at the Central Library, any branch, or the Mobile Library bus.

  • There are Branch Libraries in Roslyn, Awapuni, Te PÄtikitiki (located at Highbury) and Ashhurst.

Issue your own books

  • Central Library has self-check units in the Fiction Zone, Non Fiction Zone, and Children's Zone.

  • Follow screen instructions and get an issue slip showing the due dates.

Borrow up to 20 items

  • This will be limited to three if you were unable to show proof of address when you joined.

  • New Members become full members when they show proof of address.

Joining and borrowing is largely free

  • There are charges for some Library services and types of items.

  • Overdue fines encourage you to return your books on time.

  • People who live outside the city boundaries join as paying Country Members.

Look after your library card

  • You are responsible for your card and any charges incurred on it.

  • If it is lost or stolen let us know as soon as possible so we can put a block on it.  This will stop anyone else being able to use it.
