Beatbooth
About Beatbooth
The first recording studio in a public library anywhere in the universe (as far as we know...)
Come along and check it out!
For only $5 an hour you will be able to book the recording room and use Garageband on the iMac.
- There's a 4-way headphone amplifier so 4 people can listen at once, at whatever volume they like.
- A very cool MIDI controller keyboard.
- You can mix tracks you've recorded elsewhere, or record your own tracks in the library.

We won't be having drumkits and Marshall stacks in the room, but you can bring your guitar and use the guitar amp modelling software, close your eyes and pretend you're onstage at Ozzfest. The MIDI controller has drumpads so you can input drum patterns in realtime without having to use a mouse.
To make a booking simply pop in to the Sound and Vision Zone, Ground Floor, Central Library, and ask at the desk.
Thanks to the Rockshop and the Stomach for being involved with this.
