Getting help at advisory desks

Each Zone has an advisory service. Advisory staff are expert in helping with your information search.

Some of the things they can assist with are:

  • Helping you locate books and articles
  • Finding answers for you on your topics of interest
  • Suggesting the best information resources for your needs
  • Showing you how to use CD-ROMs, the catalogue, or other electronic resources.

and:

  • Finding  books for you similar to others you have enjoyed
  • Helping you place reserves on material currently on loan
  • Helping you use Interloan to borrow books from other libraries
  • Taking suggestions for purchase for items you think should be included in our stock

Looking for a particular item?

You can ask at an advisory desk, or use the Library catalogue to look for items kept in the Central Library, branch libraries, and the Mobile library. It will tell you where it is kept, and whether it is out on loan.
